Sabine Pass Lighthouse, Louisiana

This octagon-shaped lighthouse is located in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.  It was first lit in 1857, and deactivated in 1952.  From 1932 onward it had two black daymarks on it to distinguish it through the haze around the Sabine River.  Each of the eight sides has its own buttress.
